On my way…

on my way

… heading southwest to IM Louisville. My race is on Sunday, August 30 and you can follow along via Ironman Live if you’re so inclined.

There have been some last minute glitches not the least of which was a diagnosed torn meniscus something I really could’ve done without. Currently I’m on a “do no harm” treatment with hopes that I’ll be able to start my very long day with a minimum of pain.

I’m alternately excited then terrified. Probably a pretty reasonable attitude given the scope of the task I’ve set myself. That’s a 3.8k swim followed by a 180k bike finishing with a 42k run, just in case you’ve forgotten or didn’t know. Saying those distances sounds ridiculous even to me. Then I have to remind myself that I’ve been training for this for close to 18months. My race mantra is “In (Coach)Colin I trust”.

Wish me luck. See you on the flipside!
