Post-Ironman is proving to be a little offsetting, finding that new balance, that new normal, sans copious amounts of exercise. But I have been into the studio, first completing my “thank you” to my Super Coach.

Shrine to Super Coach
Materials include – alarm clock casing, clock stand (not from the same clock!), superman figurine, metal disks, aluminium tape, acrylic paint.

Super Coach - detail
The internal discs read: (bottom)SWIM, BIKE, RUN, (hanging-front)C O L I N, (hanging-back)2 0 0 9. I think he liked it. I tried not to make it TOO weird at least!
I’m also using up some of the metal “tiles” I purchased on ebay many moons ago. Initially a bargain that got wiped out by customs/duty charges. There is a special place in hell for Duty/Tariffs people. What happened to NAFTA fergordsakes?!?

WIP - Shrine
In this photo (above) the metal part is just sitting in front of the internal part. Far from done, but I like seeing other’s works in progress, so thought you might enjoy following the process on this one!

Work in Progress - detail
Good ol’ crackle paste in play! I made the mistake of not putting a layer of molding paste underneath (ran out, gotta remedy THAT!) and so the crackle paste is fally-outty (Technical Term). Dang it! But ya gotta make lemonade out of lemons hence the circle of text/lens bit.
PROPOSAL : CUSTOM ASSEMBLAGE FOR YOU
I’ve been asked a few times to do assemblage commissions, essentially being gifted with a box full of stuff and create something out of the flotsam/jetsom. LOVE this idea but I’m feeling a bit gun shy about accepting money to do this not knowing if I’d be able to create something worthy. Which got me thinking … what about some test trials? So here’s where YOU come in…
I’m offering to create something out of YOUR box of stuff … gratis (read: FREE) … with the following provisos:
- You send me your box at your cost.
- You can give me a hint at what you’d like to see (hanging, 3D etc) but won’t hold me to it (read: I get free rein)
- I get to photograph, document the process. Or not.
- I keep anything not used.
- There is no time restrain.
I will return your finished assemblage to you at my cost.
Interested? You can either comment below or email me at: jen AT jenworden.com
I hope to hear from you soon!

Jen,
Is the offer still good? I may be too late. Was in the hospital for a short time and not checking in as much as I used to. Email me back if it is still a valid offer…if not, I totally understand. I would love to send you a few things. Maybe just a small group of stuff, who knows…you don’t need much to be as creative as you are, that’s for sure!
Teri, I emailed you!
you are wonderfully alive and I am wowed
I am claiming a new yoga regimen
and you do so inspire
I would love to send you some of my collectibles:
shelf fungi,
rusty bottle caps,
stripey rocks from Lake Champlain
holey stones from the same
mica,
junk drawer paraphernalia,

and collecting dust
as I am now wanting only to do
yoga
for awhile
