Awhile ago I tumbled upon the new-to-me site tumblr. As with most web meanderings, I can’t recall right now why. Or how. Likely jumping from one place to another as is the wont of most good bushwacking (read: surfing) sessions.
But it wasn’t until recently that I discovered exactly why it intrigued me. Why I joined. Or even why it might be of use.
Y’know, as an aside, there are just SO many New Things on the internets, it’s hard to keep track of them all let alone understand why they might be Good Things. Without spending every minute of every day looking and reading and clicking. I for one have other things to DO!
As I slowly progress on my Lean Eating journey, I’m keenly aware that my art quest is next in line, so Inspiration …and oh yes! with a Capital “I”… has been lurking in the shadowy recesses. And with tumblr I can post as much eye candy as I wish all safely stored for when I need a good hit of that capital “I” inspiration. I think it may be one of the few “social networking sites” …another name I despise right up there with blog, blogGING, blogGER… which will be used for ME rather than for others. Think of it as a digital version of Ye Olde Manilla Folder of yore, wherein all manner of stashed, slashed magazine clippings, snippets of text, random bits of paper detritus resides.
You’re more than welcome to check out mine: meadowood.tumblr.com but I’d be remiss if I didn’t suggest you start your own clippings folder of all things that satisfy that most insatiable appetite The Artist’s Need for New Fodder.
And should you have already jumped on the tumblr bandwagon, show me your stuff! Drop a comment in the box with your link. I’d love to see what fills YOUR artistic need!

I haven't succumbed yet, but after reading your post and taking a quick peek, I think I'll check it out. As you said, I have so much other to do that I don't engage much in social whatever it's called. But this sounds most interesting – thanks for sharing!
Patti, I think of tumblr as an inspiration repository. And using the toolbar "share" button is reeDONKulously simple!
I have discovered and become obsessed with Tumblr. Once you fall in, you can never get out.
Haha! True dat, Seth!
Tumblr = pictures?
Cliff, think of it as an online way of keeping things that you want all in one place. You can add photos, links, videos, quotes or just your own thoughts. The "share" button resides on your bookmark toolbar and is dirt simple to use as you cruise the internets.
